Safety
Life is busy…
…HRT doesn’t have to be
Women and their doctors can rely on Femoston®’s well-established safety profile for cerebrovascular, breast and uterine health.
Femoston® & Cardiovascular Health
Femoston® is not associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular events than use of other HRT*1
*Other HRT = oral conjugated equine oestrogen (CEE) + norgestrel, oral oestradiol (valerate) + norethisterone (acetate), or oral CEE + MPA.
Femoston® & VTE health
The progestogen in Femoston® dydrogesterone, is associated with a lower VTE risk compared with other synthetic progestogens*. 2
Compared with no exposure, conjugated equine oestrogen with medroxyprogesterone acetate had the highest risk, and oestradiol with dydrogesterone had the lowest risk. 2
*Norethisterone acetate (NETA), Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), (levo)norgesterol.
Femoston® & breast health
The progestogen in Femoston® dydrogesterone, is associated with a lower breast cancer risk compared with other synthetic progestogens*. 3-6
Relative risk derived from comparison to HRT never-users (n=244,632). Relative risk was found to reduce with time since HRT treatment, shown by a decreased number of cases per patient years at 2-5 and ≥5 years.
*Norethisterone acetate (NETA), Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), (levo)norgesterol.
“There is now considerable evidence that micronized progesterone and biologically similar progestogens (e.g. dydrogesterone) appear to have metabolic and possibly breast advantages over androgenic progestogens”7
